AFTERCARE

Tattoo Healing Instructions

This is my professional recommendation from

personal experience.

Remove bandage after 2-4 hrs.  Clean with Liquid, fragrance free soap and water lathering the tattooed area thoroughly and removing any excess ink.  Pat dry with a clean paper towel.  Allow the tattoo to air out for a few minutes then apply a very thin layer of your favorite tattoo aftercare.

I recommend Hustle Butter or Ohana Organics or Merry Hempsters. If you did not have a chance to order these products before your session you can also use Aquaphor.

I personally love the Ohana Organics tattoo aftercare cream, I find that my tattoos heal beautifully while using this product.

Apply the ointment 3 times a day for about 3-4 days. Cleaning the tattooed area before every application.  Washing your tattoo is the most important part of the healing.  You will notice that after the 3rd or 4th day the tattoo will start peeling in the shower.  Once this happens you can start using a mild hand lotion for the the duration of the healing time.  I recommend any fragrance free body lotion such as Alba unscented body lotion.  A tattoo normally takes about 7-15 days to heal.

No sports for at least 5-7 days after your session.  The salt from the sweat can burn and compromise the healing of your tattoo.

Do not pick or scratch the healing tattoo. Do not expose the healing tattoo to direct sun light, sun bed, sauna, saltwater or chlorine.

Avoid animal saliva and hair at all cost. Change your sheets and wear clean clothing for the duration of your healing period.

Use loose clothing, nothing tight over the fresh tattoo.  I recommend pure cotton only.

For sleeping you can apply the Ointment and wrap your tattoo in plastic wrap for the night.  Make sure to remove the wrap and wash your tattoo as soon as you get up in the morning. This process is okay for the first 2 days of your healing period only.
