BIOGRAPHY

"As a lifelong artist, I am always looking for the next opportunity to translate my everyday experiences into artistic expressions.

Originally from Riga, Latvia, born to Russian and Ukrainian parents in 1983. My family and I immigrated to the United States when I was 9 years old.  I grew up in South Brooklyn, four blocks away from Astroland Park in Coney Island.  

 

I attended Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC and have an Associate Degree in Fine Arts and a Bachelors Degree in Antique Restoration.  Before I embarked on my tattoo apprenticeship journey I was working in the restoration field, restoring 17th, 18th century English furniture.

At the age of 18 I got my first tattoo of a phoenix, now seamlessly incorporated with my Tennyo backpiece both done by Rodrigo Melo.

My apprenticeship under Rodrigo Melo began in 2008 and I continue to learn from him everyday.  Being a couple and a family we have a unique viewpoint into each others creative process and which drives and inspires us both.

You can find me guest spotting around the country and abroad with my home base in Kingston, New York.   I work mainly by appointment only reach out through the website or through Instagram.  I love painting commissions so I'm always available for those ." Anna.
